Francesco Tagliatela opens Franklin Construction and builds multifamily homes in New Haven’s Fair Haven neighborhood.

Louis Tagliatela Sr. took over the company in 1962. His “we build it better” mission statement guides Franklin Construction’s many projects today.

Chestnut Hill North is built on Mix Avenue in Hamden, the site of a former apple orchard. The community has 222 apartments ranging from studios to three-bedroom homes.

Chestnut Hill South is built, adding 150 more apartments, a pool, and a putting green to Franklin’s apartment portfolio.

North Haven Health & Racquet offers over 75,000 square feet of cardio and weight equipment, tennis courts, racquetball courts, a basketball court, track, and a group exercise and spinning studio. We also have Fitness on Demand, a private women’s gym, personal training, childcare, and tanning.

Lakewood Apartments, in Hamden’s Whitneyville neighborhood, is purchased in 1985. Since then we have remodeled the apartments and added a 24-hour fitness center.

Franklin purchases Eli Whitney Apartments located in New Haven’s East Rock neighborhood. 

The Tagliatelas tear down the dilapidated Terra Mar and build Saybrook Point Inn, Spa & Marina. They also build Marina Point Villas, a development with 24 condos, across the street from the inn.

Franklin builds Rosewood, 99 apartment homes in North Haven.

Franklin converts doctor’s office in Whitney Towers into apartments.

Chestnut Hill East opens to residents, offering luxury apartments with covered parking and a 24-hour fitness center. 

Franklin purchases New London Harbour Towers, luxury condos.

Franklin rehabilitates dilapidated historical homes in New London and wins the HOBI 2017 Best Historic Rehab in a Development Award for City Flats.

Cape Arundel Cottage Preserve opens right outside of Kennebunkport, Maine.

Canal Crossing at Whitneyville West opened its first building to residents. Amenities include a saltwater pool, Bark Park with an agility course, a clubhouse with a commercial kitchen, business center, and 24-hour fitness center.
